mental performance in sport

The most accomplished wins are the ones in which we have no enemies.

coaches

Getting a team to the top, and staying there, takes mental stamina, agility, and awareness. Knowing your team dynamics and the leadership tools to drive them is part of the emotional intelligence that brought you to coaching and can be harnessed. I work with coaching staff individually and as a team to optimize what we bring to competition, practice, and each other.

athletes

The mental agility to perform at a high level is no longer a mysterious force that we can ignore. We know it – performing at a high level requires mental skills. Top athletes are at their peak physically and mentally. Through reflection, breath work, somatics, and mindfulness I work with athletes to align their inner game to their performance.

training staff

One of the most important part of optimization is integration. I work with athletic training and strength & conditioning staff to reach integrative solutions. This ensures that the work athletes and coaches are doing is supported from all sides.

one-on-one support

Insight that comes from a workshop or session is helpful. But sometimes the most useful ways to find deep impact is when we have time to reflect and find our own personal layer of the team work. I offer one-on-one mindfulness, breath work, and coaching sessions with every team package.

programs

Every sport and every team is different. Before designing a program I consult with all stakeholders involved and research what I need to know about the sport-specific aspects. I’ve worked with olympians, professional athletes and college teams ranging from individual sports like golf and swimming to team sports like basketball and baseball.

Programming & Single sessions

  • Retreats and camps can be created or mental performance can be added to an existing camp. Retreat and camp programing include nervous system activation activities (I love a ropes course), team building, leadership didactics and mental skills activities.
  • Team programs can be anywhere from a single weekend to a season and include a mutually decided curriculum and cadence. Team programs start with an assessment and are built to drive cohesive mental performance across coaches, athletes, and support staff. Often programs include a combination of survey/assessments, 1:1 sessions, team activities, journaling, and education material (books, binders, presentations, recordings). Packages range in price and may include travel costs.
  • Individual programs can be anywhere from 2 weeks to 8 months and include a mutually decided number of sessions and cadence. Individual programs start with an intake and focus on current performance, future aims, and skill acquisition for optimization. Packages range in price, individual sessions inside programs have a sliding scale of $160 – $625.
  • Single-sessions are available for individuals who want to talk through a limited scope of mental performance, prior clients who want a tune-up or check-in, and acute situations that require support. Single-sessions generally address and immediate goal or problem and focus on quick tools that support our performance. Sessions that are one-time or not based on a scheduled program have a sliding scale of $300 – $700.
